Priceline Hotel: Need help with accomadations in Sanibel island Florida

Can anyone comment on what is or is not available on priceline in Sanibel, or make any suggestion. i'm looking to book 4 nights at the end of October in best rated hotel available. Thanks in advance...I'm a big fan of this site and have saved bigtime $$$, and I always use the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links on this site to express my gratitude.

However, it's somewhat disappointing that this is your first post, as it would also be appreciated if you shared your win with the board so that others can benefit from your winning bid info. I'm sure there's somebody who won a hotel on Sanibel Island in the past, but they too didn't post their win, and now you can't gain any insight from their purchase.

Sanibel Island is part of the Fort Myers-Naples region, and if you look at the zone as defined by PRICELINE, you'll see that it also includes Captiva Islands. The highest star rating available in this zone is 3 stars... are you able to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone? The Holiday Inn is at least one 3 star rated hotel in this zone.

Looks like the pickin's are pretty slim for priceline/hotwire action on Sanibel, so I ended up booking tripadvisor's #1 rated hotel the blue dolphin cottages for 129/nt.
