angelindsay Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Good afternoon!I am planning a trip to Vegas for October 9th-11th for 4 mid-20 year olds. Our budget for the hotel is $150/night. We will all be staying in the same room. Could you please advise on Priceline? I believe this is a reasonable budget for our trip and of course, we would like to spend less if possible. As far as hotel ammenities, we would like to stay on the strip, preferably a hotel with a casino (see Trump as an outcome a lot on here), and a nice pool (2 are gamblers and 2 are going for Mariah Carey concert at Palms :) .) If we end up with Trump, I believe that would be ok but it doesn't seem like the 'hippest' place to be :) Any advice would be much appreciated!! We are looking very forward to visiting Vegas!!Thanks so much!!
AaronJB Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)The issue with PRICELINE is that the service only guarantees 2 beds. While discount service HOTWIRE is somewhat more expensive, at least you would be guaranteed bedding for your whole party. If you want to risk not having 2 beds, we can suggest options for using PRICELINE, but otherwise, I'd recommend checking HOTWIRE.What areas are you interested in staying in?Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
angelindsay Posted September 14, 2009 Author Report Posted September 14, 2009 Thanks for your response. I was curious about the bed situation with PRICELINE. I didn't know if we would be able to request a rollaway or even a double bed upon confirmation. If the chances are slim, then I wouldn't want to risk not having accomadations for everyone. We are interested ideally in Central strip, but would also be open to North/South strip as well. Also 3* and up. I am open to trying HOTWIRE since they would guarantee accomodations for 4 ppl.
thereuare Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Rates look very high for these dates... what is the best rate you're able to find for quad occupancy thru conventional booking channels? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. angelindsay Posted September 17, 2009 Author Report Posted September 17, 2009 I'm not having much luck finding a good deal either for these dates. In looking at Hotwire today, I found the following hotel for 4 adults: $84North Strip3*CasinoFitness CenterPoolRestaurantsGolf NearbySpa$1493,5*South StripResortCasinoFitness CenterPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed Internet AccessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesAny ideas what hotels they would be?
thereuare Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 The 3.5* matches both the Monte Carlo and the Luxor, so either of these would be my best guess, although the 3.5/5.0 TA information provided by HOTWIRE points to the Monte Carlo as being more likely. The 3* North Strip property has not yet been identified, and i wouldn't recommend this area for four mid-20 year olds... it's probably not the "vegas experience" you're looking for. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. angelindsay Posted September 21, 2009 Author Report Posted September 21, 2009 Update on this trip. Unfortunately I wasn't seeing great deals with Hotwire for my trip dates. I ended up reserving a room via Bookit.com. I received Treasure Island for $125/night during a 48 hour sale on the site. I think this hotel will be a great choice for our group and also a great deal! Thanks again for your help, I found your site very helpful!
