thereuare Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 The 3.5* matches previous reports for the Hilton Penn Station while the 2.5* matches the Country Inn and Suites, so that would be our best guess for each. I will point out that the Tripavisor information provided by HOTWIRE doesn't match the current TA info of the Hilton Penn Station, so this does cast a shadow of doubt for this ID, but the TA info shown by HOTWIRE is not updated in realtime and is a 'snapshot' in time, so the difference may be attributable to an overdue update.I will add that the Hilton Gateway has limited Shuttle service... i believe it only runs every 30 minutes if that is important to you. Unless you need something specific for this stay, or are intending to commute into Manhattan from there (not recommended, imo), i would consider bidding on PRICELINE in the Elizabeth zone, which i think overall offers a few nicer hotels, better value, and a nice area surroudnign the hotel. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. Le Mew Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Not the OP, but based on this I thought it seemed likely that the 2.5 EWR hotel I was looking at was indeed the Country Inn and Suites, as it had all the same amenities. I booked it (using the link) for $75 a night. I would rather have had the $59 rate :) , but I was having a hard time finding a hotel close to both the airport and transit to NYC, so I am happy with that. I checked it out on tripadvisor also and the recent reviews seem pretty good.
