Aussie Sheila Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Hi allI am relieved to report that I have my first few days accom in NYC booked. This is after a very close call... Last week I made a mistake with my booking on Priceline (name my own price). My attempt at rebidding ie including areas that did not include the star rating. (after many weeks of researching best techniques) Unfortunately a tired mind and lacking patience lead me to win a bid for Long Island when I really wanted to stay in Manhattan. Luckily the Priceline customer service operator pittied me and my feeble first bidding attempt and allowed me to have a second chance. I received an email providing instructions and conditions pertaining to rebooking and cancellation fees. In the end I will only be $25 and pride out of pocket. Here is my second attempt:The Roosevelt Hotel New York45Th And Madison AvenueNew York, NY 10017212-661-9600 Check-In: Monday, October 5, 2009-04:00 PMCheck-Out: Thursday, October 8, 2009-12:00 PMRoom Cost (avg. per room, per night): $160.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 3Travel Insurance: $15.00 (USD)Room Subtotal: $495.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $100.74 (USD)Total Room Cost: $595.74 (USD)Cheers (by the way this is a great website - Thank you !)
