Priceline Hotel: 3* Guntersville, Al

I am trying to book 2 rooms for 3 nights in Guntersville, Al. for four people. The hotel i am trying to get is the Holiday Inn Lake Guntersville. Check in date is Nov. 26 and check out is Nov. 29. Most websites have this hotel as a 3*, but priceline has it as a 2*.?.

Priceline only has 4 hotels listed for the Guntersville area. Prices range from 46 - 101. The two 2* hotels prices are 81 for the hotel i want to stay at and 46 for the other, Days Inn.

1. Since there is only 1 3* hotel in Guntersville, is this the reason they have it marked as a 2*? So you don't know what hotel you are bidding on?

2. Is it possible for me to bid 50 and get rooms at Days Inn, even though they sell for 46/night?

3. What bid do you suggest i go w/ in order to get rooms at the Holiday Inn? (FYI.... hotwire had it listed for 69 and 72 today, 9-11)

1. Since there is only 1 3* hotel in Guntersville, is this the reason they have it marked as a 2*? So you don't know what hotel you are bidding on?

First, you shouldn't use the hotels shown on the retail side or PRICELINE to determine what you will get thru the 'name your own price' side of their service. The two arms of their service use a different universe of hotels. See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ for more info.

If you're confident the HOTWIRE property is the Holiday Inn then purchase that, otherwise book directly thru the Holiday Inn
