johnnytoobad Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 I'm stopping for one night in NYC on the 13/10/09. I've been to NY many many times and i'm familiar with all the areas. i don't mind where i stay (as long as its on Manhattan), I really don't. I'm just looking for a really nice hotel for the night, I'm after the most bang for my buck and I'm willing to stay in any area. Now I doubt I can get 5* but is 4* possible for less than $150. Whats the most luxurious hotels i could hope for. Any strategy suggestions would be much appreciated.
thereuare Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!PRICELINE doesn't offer 5* bidding in Manhattan, so that's not an option just from the standpoint that there are no hotels classified as such there. As well, if you're looking for something in particular such as a "luxury experience" PRICELINE probably isn't the best way to go. That's not to say the hotels aren't nice, as the majority of them are, but many are 'business' hotels with more of a focus on fucntion than style... and with PRICELINE you can't choose which type you will get. HOTWIRE might be a better option if you're able to identify the property beforehand based upon the amenities shown... and then determine if the hotel would meet your needs. While HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, it give you a little insight as to what you might be getting, which would be beneficial in a situation such as this where you're looking for a hotel with a specific style. Regardless of which way you go, at the moment, it looks as if your $150 budget would likely fall a little short for a 4* property, imo. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
