flyer7 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Initial NMA bid of $67 was answered with offer to rebid instantly for +$17. Ignored, added OHare South with $69 bid, which was accepted. Used the BB PRICELINE link, of course. In town for Print09 at McCormack PL.Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $69.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 2Number of Nights: 1Room Subtotal: $138.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $29.34 (USD)Total Room Cost: $167.34 (USD)Looks like a decent hotel with a great view, though it appears from aerial views some construction may be happening in area. Navy Pier is a plus.Anyone know if hotel's described route (Kennedy to Ohio, east to Lakeshore, then north to hotel) is passable and relatively construction free? Parking suggestions? Looks like public ramp adjacent to property, but cost is elusive. Would train to McCormack be feasible? I'd love to let the car sit. Thanks for the great service.
thereuare Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you're happy with the results and this property will work well for your plans. I can't comment regarding the construction, but if somebody local to the area doesn't update with current status, i'm sure a quick phone call to the hotel will give you the best route based upon current conditions.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay and hope it's a good show for you. AaronJB Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 If you don't mind walking a little while (15-20 minutes), there is this lot - prices have gone up since these rates, so call ahead. I haven't parked in this lot (I don't drive), but this is a popular option. There are a LOT of public lots in this area, and they may be worth exploring. Not sure regarding construction as I don't drive. You can take the Metra train to McCormick (metrarail.com), but it would require a walk to the nearest train station. It would not be bad taxi drive to McCormick, so if you don't want to walk, I'd just cab it.If you have not been to Navy Pier previously, I'm not a fan of it and wouldn't recommend devoting much time to it.The Sterling Self-Park Garage (located between Clark and LaSalle on Kinzie)312.341.3463$24 per dayIn by 7 a.m. out by 7 p.m. - $14In by 9 a.m. out by 7 p.m. - $18 per dayAfter 3 p.m. and weekends - $6
