pgrad Posted September 13, 2009 Author Report Posted September 13, 2009 Boston Back Bay,Copley Square 2* Sept 20-22, $155I am looking on the HOTWIRE Link that is a 2* hotel in Boston's Back Bay, Copley Square for $155 that has No Smoking, Pool, Restaurant and High Speed Internet. Trip Advisor rating is 4 stars. Any idea what it might be. A little strange that the two ratings are that far apart.
thereuare Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 This property has not yet been identified, but for the TA user review rating and the hotels' star rating to be so far apart is really not that strange, as the measure different things. The TA rating is more of a user satisfaction than a quality rating... one could stay at an Extended StayAmerica, which has great employees, is clean, and a guest has a great time, and rate it 4 or 5... yet it would be far from a 4* or 5* hotels. Likewise, a guest can pay big bucks to stay at a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton, and it may not live up to expectations for the price paid or the experience may not live up to the reputation of these companies... and a user could give their stay a rating of 2 or 3. I'd still take the lesser rated Four Season or Ritz Carlton vs. the well rated ESA :)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. pgrad Posted October 12, 2009 Author Report Posted October 12, 2009 I booked this, which was the Boston Sheraton. Very nice hotel adjacent to the Prudential Center Mall, which had everything you could want. Hotwire saved us more than $30/night!
thereuare Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Thank you for sharing your results with the board. Can you please confirm the zone, star rating, nighly rate, and amenities associated with this property, as the Sheraton Boston has previously been reproted in the Back Bay-Copley Zone... which was not the original zone you asked about above.
