yoralph Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 I plan to visit NYC with my parents and my wife between 09/23/2009 and 09/26/2009. I have tried to get 4* hotel (Hyatt, W) in Jersey city by bidding at PRICELINE website. I used the link in this website. But, I failed three times untill now. Last bidding was $120/night. I still have time to bid, but I want to make it asap. Let me know how to make. Also, I checked HOTWIRE for 3.5* hotel in Secaucus. It was suite style hotel. Is it Embassy Suite? Since it is not in HOTWIRE hotel list, I am not sure about it.
Pfaffhp Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 Hi,I stayed at the Westin in July. The Hotel is really good. My offer was 105$, try it again with 115 - 125 $.

(or are your dates flexible at all?) What is your maximum bid for this stay? For help identifying the Seacaucus property please include the complete set of amenities associated with the property being offered (and include the number of rooms/adults/children you're including in your search)I stayed at the Westin in July.It would be appreciated if you shared your results with the board (idealy as you received them) so that the information can benefit others in a timely manner. :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
yoralph Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 Thank you for quick reply. That's why I could not get it. Since I have already booked broadway musical on Thursday night, it will be difficult to change check-in date. But, I can change check-out date. I think I could try splitting my bid because I can drive my car. My maximum bid for this stay will be $120/night. For Secaucus property, the set of amenities shows suites, fitness center, laundry, high-speed internet, and kitchenette. I set one room with two adults.
thereuare Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 I set one room with two adults. It sounds as if you'll actually be quad occupancy... are you ok with the risk of receiving a room with only one bed?The Suite property has not yet been identified... the Hyatt Place, La Quinta Suites Secaucus or the La Quinta Suites Clifton, each with a new set of amenity icons, are all possibilities. But if you're willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID how about Jersey City for $110 or under the last two nites of your stay, then someplace different for the first nite (the Sheraton Suites Weehawken seems like an available option which would be an easy ride to Jersey City the follwoing day, as well as bus stop right near the hotel to take you into Manhattan... or you could look towards secaaucus/meadowlands for this first nite as well)Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. yoralph Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 Yes, it is a good idea. I also checked Hotwire for 4* hotel in Jersey city between 09/24/2009 and 09/26/2009, and it was $123/night which is much cheaper than full stay (over $200/night). Wednesday stay costs a lot. I want to try your suggestion.
yoralph Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 I've just succeeded in getting Westing New Port in Jersey City between 09/24/2009 and 09/26/2009 for $97/night. Now, I need to make a hotel reservation for 09/23 - 09/24. How about trying another bid for 4* in Jersey City? I think it will be Westin if I get it. And, I could ask Westin hotel to combine my stay. Am I correct?
yellowdog Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Thank you for sharing your result with the board!Yes, if you get the Westin again can you ask them to combine your stay. Have you looked at your confirmation if you can extend your stay, "add a night via PRICELINE?"Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Enjoy your stay.Yellowdog.
thereuare Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 With HOTWIRE showing a 4* in this zone for $249/nite (and it's not the Westin) i doubt you'll be successful at around the same price. If you'd like help with this remaining nite please start a NEW TOPIC.Thanks.
