Lulubelle Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Hi all,I am working at President Clinton's annual meeting in NYC 9/22-9/25. Lodging is tough as you know. The meeting is at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers. The foundation rate is $450 plus a night! Hotwire has a 4* Midtown Central hotel, no smoking, restaurant, wifi, business center and fitness center for $382 a night. Is this definitely the Sheraton? Also, Dream has $350 a night on Quikbook which is close by but the convenience of staying onsite is probably worth the $30 extra a night? Please advise and thanks!ET
AaronJB Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 This would be a match for what has been previously reported with the Sheraton, and the tripadvisor rating matches, as well, so that would be my guess, as well. Personally, if you are working there and (I would imagine) have a tight schedule, it would probably be best to try and stay on-site.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
Lulubelle Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 What about Empire? That's not too far from Sheraton? Maybe 4-5 blocks? If I could get the $145 a night rate I don't care how small it is!! What are your thoughts based on BetterBidding Empire feedback? Thanks! ET
thereuare Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 The Empire Hotel is 10 blocks (and almost 2 Avenues) from the Sheraton... to saev $200/nite i would think the distance worthwhile, but where will you get the $145/nite rate... are you basing this on previous wins for dates other than your own? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Lulubelle Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 Yes, can't get the $145 rate anymore...it's now $339 a night. I just noted the other gentleman booked in early 2009. Now inventory is tight. Thanks, ET
