nocomicsans Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Here's my history: I tried bidding 4* in Downtown/SoHo, where I really wanted to stay, but nothing was accepted under $170, and I didn't want to go above that). I started at $120 (yes, hopeful!), added zones with 3*, even lowered my star rating to 3.5*, but still nothing was accepted. I tried this for 2 days. I EVEN tried Jersey City at $85, but thank goodness it wasn't accepted, since I really didn't want to be there after all.I started over fresh a third time with MTE (Midtown East), planning to add dummy zones as needed, at a rate of $140. The bid was accepted on the first try without having to change anything! (Means I probably overpaid, but a deal is still a deal. Their web rate is $269 right now.)So you Downtown/SoHo hopefuls would have to shell out more if you want that zone with 3.5 and up. And if you DO get something cheap down there, I don't want to know! :(Oh yeah, taxes and fees added $61.72 for those two nights.
