Priceline Hotel: Sydney 9 Oct 09 to 12 Oct 09

Hi,

Have been trying to book a hotel via PRICELINE but to no avail. I tried:

On 7/9,

1st bid : 70

2nd bid: 72

was asked to change the date/area/quality of hotel, but couldn't change date/area, but I'm afraid of getting a 3* give I change the rating.

on 8/9, increased bid to 75, still unsuccessful.

I had used the above PRICELINE link to make the bid. Any tips/strategy?

Hi,

I saw a lot of them getting the 4* Marriot in Sydney, City Centre and hoping to get it from $77 to $80. Of course, I do not mind if I could get the 5* at that price (hehe..).

Any strategy? Thanks

Unfortuntately you have no re-bid zones available at the 4* or 5* levels.

Given you have some time i would bid as follows over the next 48 hours:

Select 5*...

Bid $78, if rejected lower to 4* and bid $78 again.

If rejected wait 24 hours and:

Bid $78, if rejected lower to 4* and bid $78 again.

Sorry above should have been:

If rejected wait 24 hours and:

Select 5* and Bid $80, if rejected lower to 4* and bid $80 again.

... since $80 is your maximum bid as stated above.

I'm at my wit's end. Already bidded to $92, changed the date of checking out and still no success.
