Priceline Hotel: Sep. 10th - 20th

I've already tried up to 84 on a 4*, and 70 on a 3 1/2*. Any advice? I don't mind splitting. Thanks!

Which city/zones are you bidding? What is your maximum bid at each star level? Have you only tried bidding the complete stay thus far or have you tried SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID?

I am only bidding in Downtown Toronto (Priceline), as I need to be able to walk to as many TIFF sites as possible. I did although utilize the rebidding by including other zones that do not have 4* so I could creep up my price in the same day. I have also tried splitting on the 4*, trying 10-17th and 10-18th, both as high as $84 (which is much more than I was initially hoping for). I have not tries splitting my bid on the 3 1/2* yet.

For your complete stay HOTWIRE is only showing two hotels in the Downtown zone... a 3* at $152 and a 2.5* at $98, so i'm guessing your current bids are likely too low (not only indicated by the prices of the hotels above, but also by the lack of any inventory offered at the 3.5* or 4* level)

What are the actual dates of the film festival (is it this entire date range of 9/10-9/20)? Do you have a back-up reservation anywhere? If you SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, does it have to be the dates you've already tried or are you flexible as to what day the hotel change takes place?

What is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional means? What is your maximum bid at each star level?

I ended up moving hotels four times during the stay, which was a nightmare, but I pulled it off for a combination of rates between $70 and $130.
