travellust Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 I was trying to get 4* or 3.5* in Atlantic City for the upcoming friday night but all my bids $70-$90 were rejected. Then I tried $50-$60 for 3* and $60 went through for Chelsea Hotel. I'm not sure if I'm 100% happy about it, the price seems VERY good but I'm afraid to find out if it's the Annex that everybody described as the worst place. If anybody knows which part of the Chelsea Hotel this is I would really appreciate it. Another thing is we'll need 2 queen beds and the prices on the hotel's web site are higher than for 1-king size rooms. Now I wonder how much the hotel will try to rip us off if I call ask for a 2-queen size beds room. Any advice on this would be appreciated!
AaronJB Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)Congratulations on your success! Hopefully the stay will go better than expected; PRICELINE reservations only guarantee 1 bed - I'd call the hotel to ask regarding two beds if you do need two.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to start future purchases.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!I'd start by calling the hotel to request two beds, but i'd expect (or at least be willing to pay) whatever the room price difference is on their website between between 1 bedded rooms and 2 bedded room (ie- if a 1bed room is $150 and a 2bed room is $175, i'd think that paying $25/nite to upgrade to the 2bedded room is fair) Remember that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, and if you need a room with 2 beds or are more than double occupancy HOTWIRE can be a better opion as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy (and using HOTWIRE for triple occupancy can assure separate sleeping accomodations for two people)I'm not sure which tower you'll be in, but when you call above you can ask what you've been assigned to if you're not happy with it ask about any upgrades that may be available (even for a fee)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how the converations above go and the room assignment so others will know what type of room to expect.Good luck.
