I tried all sorts of different ways to get a nice room for our trip. Somehow I picked a really expensive time period to visit DC.

I started with 4* Arlington at $99 a night

I am pretty sure I used the PRICELINE link on this page. The hotel gets good reviews, so I am relieved. You may wonder why I did Arlington and Alexandria first both times. I was very confident I was not going to get DC proper for those low prices--so I wanted to make sure I got them at the cheapest rate.
