This has to be the worst hotel to win. It has poor reviews complaining about priceliners being treated like lepers, expensive parking with no nearby alternatives, and no where near "downtown" (but close to Harbor Island...whoopee!) Was hoping to win one of the stunning looking real downtown hotels. I suppose that's the priceline lottery. At least the price was cheap. Link to comment
BidSurfer
I stayed at this Hotel once on a PRICELINE bid, and was refused a non-smoking room! The Hotel itself was beautiful, and the area is scenic - just not close to Downtown SD. If I ever need to stay in Downtown SD again, I will avoid PRICELINE because the downtown zone includes Harbor Island.I hope that you enjoy your stay :) Link to comment
yellowdog
Thank you for sharing your result with the board!Sorry to see that you got a hotel you don't like. Let's hope that you get a good stay and that the hotel is better than the reviews. Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Yellowdog. Link to comment
thereuare
I'll also add that if you use our Priceline Hotel List and there is a hotel in the zone, or an area of the zone, you're trying to avoid, then HOTWIRE can be a better option since you can often take an educated guess as to the property beforehand based upon the amenities shown before your purchase. As well, let's say the hotel you're trying to avoid doesn't have a pool, you could 'safely' purchase any HOTWIRE hotel that shows a pool icon and 'know' that it's not going to be the one you're trying to avoid. Lastly, PRICELINE and hotwire also often draw their zone boundaries a different from each other, so sometimes you can avoid an area by looking at the other service which may divide the region into smaller zones. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
