heyqqqq Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Started bidding Miami Beach at $60. Added re-bid zones until accepted at $75. Of course I used the PRICELINE link from your page. Looks like a good hotel - hopefully it will be a nice two night stay. Anyone stayed here? Any suggestions on parking, nearby food, etc? Is it walkable to south beach?

MrB Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Just got back from a priceline stay there booked using the board link. Got a nice room on the 4th floor in the old tower with a partial ocean view but no balcony. Hotel is newly renovated and very nice. Also visited the Fontainebleau next door which was nicer but it is a billion dollar redevelopment so to be expected (they didn't seem to mind having visitors). There is meter parking on the street for $1/hour (8am to 6pm, free after 6pm) or in a city beach parking lot immediately adjacent to the hotel. The lot takes credit cards and you can also pay the attendant for the whole day ($10) if you like but there are no in/out privileges. Although parking is free after 6pm, on week-ends they post an attendant and charge $10 for overnight parking so you need to get in before the attendant starts to charge or else park on the street. We never had much problem finding a parking spot on the street but this could be a pain if busy. There is not really anything you can walk to other than hotels and condos, certainly not south beach. We enjoyed FiFi's Place which is a 5 minute drive north and have eaten there 5 or 6 times, always good. Expect to pay $24 for a main course and under $10 for great starters like ceviche - they also usually give free desserts or other samples. They also have a simple fish dish for $10.99 with salad etc. which is excellent value and tasty if you are on a budget. There are more expensive seafood options and spear-caught fish which are great but a little pricey. Let me know if you find a casio camera as I somehow lost mine going from the parking lot to the airport!
