Priceline Hotel: Strategy Needed for Sheraton Station Square

I'm new - and so glad to have found this great forum!

I'm going to a wedding in Pittsburgh, and need a hotel October 9th & 10th. The wedding party (consisting of many of my friends) is staying at the Sheraton Station Square, so I'd like to stay there.

I see from this board that this hotel appears to be one of only two 3.5* hotels in Pittsburgh Downtown (the other being Marriott, where I'd prefer not to stay).

So, what's the best way to ensure that I get this hotel? So far, I've gone to PRICELINE and narrowed down the search criteria, but I can't see where I get to see amenities to narrow things down further (I haven't entered my credit card info). I'm new to this process, so I would greatly appreciate any advice.

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE. You need to be willing to stay at any 3.5* or higher in the zone you're bidding at.

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.
