bbcabras Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 I have two requests on priceline.com.One request is a 4 star with the following areas:- Lincoln Park- Millennium Park- Norht Michigan AveThe other request is a 4/3/3.5 star with the same areas above.I am trying to increase the price without changing any other options, but the system is telling me to make a change in area, star level, and or check-in dates. However, i do not want to change any of these. i only want to increase the price. What can i do?
thereuare Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you looking to bid again at the 3* or higher level OR looking to bid again for a 4* hotel? Are you familiar with re-bidding? If not, see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and you're strongly encouraged to confirm your re-bid zone(s) with the board before proceeding. What are the date(s) of your stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
bbcabras Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 Thanks for the reply!I am looking to bid either one, but i only want to increase my bid and not add zones.Dates for stay:check in - 9/4/09check out - 9/7/09
thereuare Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 Did you read the previous Priceline Re-Bidding Explained link and understand the concept of re-bidding is that you're adding zone(s) that you can't win since they contain only hotels at a lower star rating than you're bidding... so you're adding zones so that you can bid again, but won't win a hotel in these new zones since there are no hotels in the zone that meet your minimum star rating threshold... so essentially bidding the sames zones that you were just rejected for.Again, if you're new to re-bidding, you're strongly encouraged to confirm your re-bid zones with teh board and/or ask questions before using them. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. bbcabras Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 Yes, I did read the re-bdding guidlines. I understand the re-bidding process. Thanks.
thereuare Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 At this point would you like help with a bidding strategy? If so, what criteria (zone(s), star rating, maximum bid) are you interested in?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. bbcabras Posted September 3, 2009 Author Report Posted September 3, 2009 I will give another shot. This is my criteria:- millennium park- 4 star- $85 max
bbcabras Posted September 3, 2009 Author Report Posted September 3, 2009 I was in a hurry and did not check to see that i could have gotten this at a much lower price.I started the bid at 75 without thinking. The only area I selected was Millennium Park. This is still an ok deal, right?
thereuare Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Congratualtions on your success!Compared to a traditionally booked room this is a fabulous deal... without PRICELINE / HOTWIRE a 4* hotel in Downtown Chicago would almost be unhread of.Hope you're happy with the results and this works well for your needs.Thank you for sharing your results with the board. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
