GREAT SITE!

I was getting ready to book a stay at the Ventian on 12/4-5, a suite with 2 queens for $169.

After reading up here I may give Priceline/Hotwire a go.

My question is if I book on Hotwire (or Priceline), is it a safe bet to assume that my 5* hotel will be the Venetian or Ballagio?

Currently the Venetian is $319 for Sat nite and $169 for Sunday nite. On Hotwire they show the 5* for $169 a nite, total $338 ($150 less).

Of course this assumes that I will get the Venetian (Although the Bellagio would work as well).

I apologize if this post is duplicating others, thank you all for your time and assistance.

Welcome to BetterBidding! (and thanks for the site compliments)

I tried to look at the Hotwire offering to see if it was the Venetian or the Bellagio (there's a slight difference in the way the amenities appear) but i couldn't get a 5* offering to appear for these dates.

We can't guaranatee that you'll receive the Venetian or Bellagio... but i'd say it's an extremely reasonable and logical assumption (we've never seen the Ritz Carlton in the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay come up... i'd be surprised if it did show up, and i don't know of any users that would complain about receiving it, but for any 'outliers' that may be out there we won't say that no other hotels are possible)

Are you still seeing it show up right now? It's possible that there reservation system is down while i looked so i'll try to check back in an hour or so, but let me know if you still see it.

I can see that now as well.

I believe that property to be the Venetian more so than the Bellagio.

We can supply a strategy to bid on Priceline, but keep in mind that Priceline only gurantees double occupancy. You can certainly bid for one room and hope for 2 beds, but keep in mind that this hotel has bee known to charge an additional fee (i think $30/pp... maybe $20/pp) for occupancy over two. Of course you could always have the other adult in your party be 'someplace' else with the kids and only have one adult approach the desk to check-in (and ask for double beds at that time).

Let us know how you want to take the Hotwire offering or would rather try bidding on Priceline. If you try Priceline i'd assume that your maximum bid would simply be an attempt to beat this 5* Hotwire offering, but if you wanted a lower maximum bid just let us know.

thereuare,

Again, thanks for the help.

I was originally going to stay at the Venetian, booked through their site in a Bella Suite for $169 on just Sunday. Now through Hotwire I'll book the Saturday night as well for an average of $169 per night. If i were to book Saturday direct, it would have been $319. So I figure i'm saving about $150.00.
