Cannes Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Hi.This is my first time considering booking with HOTWIRE. You all have given me the inspiration to give it a shot.So I am looking at a 4.5* in USE for9/26- 9/30the amenities are:fitness centerpoolrestaurantbusiness centerhigh speed wirelessThanks bunches!!
yellowdog Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Welcome to BeterBidding! This is a match for the previous reported InterContinental so that would be my best guess. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes.Yellowdog.
Cannes Posted September 3, 2009 Author Report Posted September 3, 2009 I figured that would be the case and really appreciate your confirmation. My only concern is the type of room we'll end up with. If we decide to book through HOTWIRE, we will certainly use the link. Thank you so much!! :)
Cannes Posted September 3, 2009 Author Report Posted September 3, 2009 Went back this morning to book and the amenities changed. :) The pool is no longer listed which makes me think it's a different hotel. It's still a 4.5* and according to the hotwire hotel list on this site, the intercontinental is the only 4.5* currently in USE. Any thoughts?
sasa4 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 i stayed at the Inter-Continental hotel (on 888 howard st) 3 weeks ago and yes, their pool is closed for repairs. but they are letting their customers use the pool at the marriott a few blocks down. you can call them to double check that that is still true.
Cannes Posted September 3, 2009 Author Report Posted September 3, 2009 So, chances are it's still the Intercontinental. I'm not very good at gambling... I just dont have the stomach for it. Did you enjoy your stay there? Did you get a room upgrade?
sasa4 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 yes, we enjoyed our stay there. i didn't go through HOTWIRE or PRICELINE so i don't have any upgrade or downgrade comments. the room was really spacious for a DT hotel. will stay there again. staff was friendly, but the bar staff was a bit too pre-occupied. breakfast was good too. however, even tho our room was on the 25th floor, we could still hear sirens at night :). and the duvet was really thick. we put our thermostat to 69 and it was still hot at night, only in bed though. everywhere else the room was cool.
BEAV Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 At the moment, the pool icon is back again when searching for 9/26-9/30. The 4.5 Tripadvisor ratings also points to the Intercontinental. I've stayed there twice, both on HOTWIRE purchases, and never had an issue (or complaint) with room assignments.
