Juleee12 Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Need help in getting the most out of Priceline for a trip this weekend to NYC. Dates are 11/26-11/28. I'd like to stay in Midtown if possible and in a 3* or 4* hotel for $140. Is this even possible at this late date with the Macy's Day Parade happening and all? What do you experienced bidders recommend. Here's what I thought I'd do - select Midtown South, East, West and Upper. Start my bid at $110.A comfortable hotel room is very important as it is just as much a part of the trip is as the sights. Is this even possible? Help!
thereuare Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding!I would star like this...Select 4* MTW and...Bid $105, if rejected add MTE and...Bid $110.I won't get into re-bid zones and such just yet because based upon prior bids for this date i think you have a decent chance with the above. If the above fails we'll then get into re-bid zones and the UM/CPS zone.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck. Juleee12 Posted November 23, 2004 Author Report Posted November 23, 2004 Wow, this board really works. I did exactly what the administrator told me to do and voila, I got my 4* in MTW for $105 one selection, one $ bid. Staying at the Hilton New York 1335 Avenue of the Americas. I'm psyched. I hope the room is all that I expect it to be. I'll report back with any findings. Happy Turkey Day to all!!!!!!! Juleee12
thereuare Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 Congratulations on your win... glad you were successful and got a great deal.I've mentioned before my wife works right near this hotel and i was at a conference there a few months back. It's a very large hotel, a LOT of business travelers (although not likely during the weekend that you are there) and close to Times Square and Central Park... a great location. You can see that the REVIEWS are generally quite favorable.Have a great stay and time in NYC.
