Dennis H Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 I'm stuck trying to find a 4* room in the Millennium Park/Loop area for $101/ a night. I added River North and still no luck. Now Priceline is saying I have duplicates requests. Any advice?
AaronJB Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)What would be your budget per night for hotel? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links when you are ready to book.
Dennis H Posted August 30, 2009 Author Report Posted August 30, 2009 I'd be willing to go to $115/night, but how can I get rid of the duplicate bid message on PRICELINE?Thanks!
MadFlyer Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Welcome to the site. You can only bid the same zone or combination of zones once, every 24 hours. Read up a little on using priceline. The zone you added has 4 star as well, does that mean you do not care which of those two zones? To rebid, you need to add a zone that does not have the star level of hotel you want. zones with no 4 star in Chicago are currently, Lincoln park, Midway, Ohare South and Skokie. You then raise bids at maybe 5 dollar increments until you win in the zone you want. You have plenty of time, so once every 24 hours should work. Inventory can change daily with some hotels opening inventory far in advance and others opening inventory at the last minute. Good Luck bidding.

thereuare Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Have you read up on and understand your re-bid zones? (as you actually have FIVE re-bid zones available for when bidding 4* in Chicago... see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained)What is your maximum bid for this stay? Are both the Loop and NMA zone(s) acceptable? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

TamCaP Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 You might have better chances if you forget about the 10/18. On the 17th a major (30k+) conference starts in town and the hotels are booked... and then some.
Dennis H Posted September 8, 2009 Author Report Posted September 8, 2009 What about dropping my hotel preference to a 3.5*?
thereuare Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 We'll offer a suggestion for whatever star rating you would like, but for this complete stay at $115 i think you're closer to the 3* level than the 3.5* level. However, if your fist choice is a 4* hotel, why not try up to your limit first before lowering your star rating? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
