Priceline Hotel: 4* Bidding Help

I am new here and need a little bidding advice.

My friends and I will be meeting in Vegas 10/9-10/11. We would like to reserve two rooms at a 4* property on the South Strip (ideally NY/NY), and our budget per room is $90.00. Is this realistic? What is a good bidding strategy? Thanks.

UPDATE: I tried to bid for a room and here is what happened:

I entered the PRICELINE site via the betterbidding.com link. My initial bid on a 4* room South Strip was $60.00 per room per night. I thought it might be a little low, but I didn't want to pay too much. Rejected. The site countered with $109.00 but that was not acceptable so I added the North Strip (which I do not want) and tried to raise my price to $70.00. Still rejected, so I decided to come back to this forum.

Based upon what I've seen $70.00 is a little low, but some places have accepted prices around this number. I don't want to overpay, but cannot pay more than $90.00 per room. Also, does anyone ever get the insurance? Thanks.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Let's back up one moment...

...I added the North Strip (which I do not want) and tried to raise my price to $70.00.
If you don't want to stay in the North Strip zone why add this zone to your bidding? There are 4* hotels in this area so it would be quite possible that you receive a hotel in this zone.

Are you familiar with re-bidding and how to determine your re-bid zone? (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained)

Lastly, do be aware that the Westin is located in PRICELINE's Strip South zone but is actually slightly off the strip, would this be an acceptable property should you receive it?

Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your bidding.

Thank you for the quick reply and the link to the rebidding process. I have reviewed it, as you suggested. The information was helpful, but I guess my question is what is a realistic price (and strategy) for a weekend in a 4* South Strip hotel. I have no problem with the Westin. I just want the south area of the Strip. Thanks.

At the 4* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)

You haven't confirmed your two re-bid zones with the board, but you're strongly encouraged to do so if you're new to the process. Also, note that should you receive the Westin, they do charge a resort fee.

Select 4* South Strip...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $80, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 4* South Strip and re-bid zone2...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $90

Any questions feel free to ask.
