jachi01 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Hi,I need a hotel in Boston from Sep-9 to Sep-18. I checked the listed hotels for each category/zone and I see the Taj listed as a 5* and then what follows is a list with 4*....however, when going to priceline there is no 5* choice for this area (no more Taj ?) but a 4*Deluxe....any idea what hotels could be?Thanks a lot!!
thereuare Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 As per THIS LINK it appears The Taj has been downgraded to 4*.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. jachi01 Posted August 30, 2009 Author Report Posted August 30, 2009 Just to f.up with my bid I offered $140 for a 4* deluxe - Copley Square (8 nigths from Sep-10 to Sep 18) and was refused...then tried with 3.5* same offer and refused as welll. Any idea if the reason could be the proximity of the dates or the extension of the stay ?Thanks a lot
thereuare Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 For its size, Boston doesn't have a large number of hotel rooms and any moderate sized event can often drive up hotel prices. (although when i was there last year there were a new W which was starting to be built and the Westin just signed a committment to expand their convention center facility)Rates are dates specifci and looking at rates for your dates their fairly high, so there is likely some event taking place (could even just be a few Red Sox games) driving up prices, as well as the length of your stay possibly covering one or more dates with higher than usual prices.Have you considered SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID or another nearby zone such as Quincy Market and/or Harbor Front? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
