I just booked this hotel for 9/5 for one night -- and the reviews are iffy, but it's one night... 2.5*, $39+tax, same icons as above. Retail rate is $107+tax for my date tho.

Using Hotwire, I got the Best Western Dartmouth Inn

the hotel was full when I arrived and I have been given a smoking room. I was on my way to leave when the cleck at the front desk checked for cancellations and I could eventually get a non smoking room.

I am not sure I would recommend to bid on this property if you want to spend time in Newport, RI as it is a 40 mn drive, and prepare your earplugs ... The walls / ceilings are so thin, you can hear distinctly your neighbor's conversation (even though they speak , not yell). And we were unfortunate enough to have one of our neighbors (up, right, left ??? 3 doors away maybe ?) letting the TV on all night long ...
