jlarson Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Hello all, I am new to this site, and I'm not sure exactly where to ask my advice, so please pardon me if in incorrect place for this type of question. However I will be in San Francisco for the first time Oct 10-13th. I'm looking to stay somewhere downtown, in safe neighboorhood, that is an affordable price. Please assist if possible. Thanks so much :)
Gallus50 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Dear jlarson - While I can appreciate that the whole PRICELINE / HOTWIRE thing can be confusing, you need someplace to start. That place is the FAQ's on this board. They will help explain the parameters of how HOTWIRE works, how PRICELINE works, what a free rebid is, etc. Your questions are so wide and far-reaching that they are hard to answer. Once you have read the FAQs, and possibly TripAdvisor's pages on SF so you get a feel for neighborhoods, locations and hotels, bump this thread and we will be happy to give you some specific advice in reference to winning on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. I will say that your dates may be a bit challenging; re Josh Miller's post. Good luck and let us know what help you need, specifically.

AaronJB Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 The PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links suggested are these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.
Gallus50 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 The FAQ's are in the Questions and Suggestions section. Rebdding is an important thing to know for SF - there are several rebid zones and if you play your cards right and close your browser regularly, you can get oodles of bids in.
