RedmondFrank
As a frequent user of HOTWIRE and your link thereto, I'm often influenced by the default sort putting "Best value" to the top.But in your expert studies, does that designation actually connote better deals?thanks,Frank Link to comment
thereuare
It's a designation based upon the star rating and price of the hotel vs. the other offerings.I don't know the formula involved but for instance, a 4* hotel at $100 would be a better value than a 3* hotel at $95 (ie- $5 more for a full star upgrade is a better value).By the same token, a 3.5* at $90 would be a better value than a 4* at $275... the 4* hotel may be MUCH nicer, but based upon the other offer at $150+ less for only a half star drop in rating, the 3.5* would represent a better value.Keep in mind it does not take into consideration reviews for the hotel, it's simply a function of star rating and price relative to the other offers appearing on the search.Hope that makes sense.
