lazyapaints Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 My family and I are planning to go to the NFR 12/9 to 12/13. We would like to stay at the MGM. What are the best airfare and hotel prices for that time. Thanks
thereuare Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding! We need a bit more info to be of assisance:-how many people in your family-how many rooms do you need-where will you be flying from-why the MGM? is the only hotel you are willing to accept or would you stay at a similar/better hotel if it was a better value-do you currently have a back-up reservation (if so, where and how much?)This will at least help us get started. lazyapaints Posted November 19, 2004 Author Report Posted November 19, 2004 There are 3 adults & 1 kid that is 17, 1 room, leaving from Seattle, a simular 4 star hotol will be good, but we want to be in the center of the strip (easy access to the arena), no back-up as of yet.
thereuare Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 You have a few options and how you play it depends upon your comfort level. Many hotels in Vegas now charge for more than 2 people in each room (some hotels are charging upwards of $30 per person!! and the MGM is one of those hotels! :) )... are you going to book as double or quad occupancy? The other problem you have is that your stay covers a Thur-Mon period... with Friday and Saturday nites being much more expensive than Thur and Sunday nites. As explained in SHOULD I SPLIT MY PRICELINE BID?, this is going to be a difficult win on Priceline if you want to bid it as a continuous stay.I did look at hotel prices (double occupany) and to give an idea of what i saw: MGM: $520Ballys: $356Luxor: $360Aladdin: $396Monte Carlo: $436Of the above i would most likely choose the Aladdin as i think the location is excellent and the best value of the bunch (if looking a bit less money Bally's is also a good choice, but not as new as the Aladdin).A preliminary search for airfare shows a non-stop flight for $165/pp.Let us know your thoughts on the above and we'll take it from there.
