lei123 Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 Hello,I'll be visiting NYC with my mother and would prefer to have 2 double beds rather than 1 bed. Should I not even bother with PRICELINE or HOTWIRE? I've always had great success with both. I'm just afraid that NYC has mainly 1 bed hotels rather than 2. Thank you.
yellowdog Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! If 2 beds is a must so use HOTWIRE. You can search for 3 adults or 2 adults + 1 child to secure 2 beds. Please post your dates for the stay.Yellowdog.
lei123 Posted August 26, 2009 Author Report Posted August 26, 2009 Thank you very much for your reply. We'll be staying September 26 - 29. I would like a 4 star at a minimum and open to whatever area except Time Square.

thereuare Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.NOTE: the "second bed" could be a pullout sofabed or rollaway brought into the room, but by searching for triple occupancy you do ensure separate sleeping accomodations.MTE: with the caveat that the number of reviews is off a bit (we have seen this a few times before) best guess would be the RooseveltMTC: matches the Sheraton Manhattan so that would be my best guessESB: no guessPlease use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. lei123 Posted August 27, 2009 Author Report Posted August 27, 2009 Many thanks for your response. Since I'm not too familiar with NYC, can you recommend which area would be best suited for us. Thanks again, Lei
thereuare Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Generally speaking, of the three above, the MTW zone property would probably work out best location-wise... it's near Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and near multiple subway lines to take you elsewhere in the city. However, neither of the hotels guessed above get the best of reviews, so go with an open mind if you proceed with either of the above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. lei123 Posted September 15, 2009 Author Report Posted September 15, 2009 Hello,I'm going to NY with my mom from 9/25/-9/29. I need 2 beds and by reading on the forum, hotwire seemed to be the preferred choice. I selected 2 adults and 1 child. I know this is last minute and there isn't a whole lot of choices there.I'm not too familiar with the New York area. We will mainly be doing the touristy stuff. Can you please tell me which would be the better area (and hotel) to stay in? There is not a big price difference between the two. lei123 Posted September 16, 2009 Author Report Posted September 16, 2009 Hi there.I actually went ahead and booked the Mid Town East 3.5* which happened to be the Roosevelt. Very happy with the hotel, just wish I booked earlier to save $$$. I used the HOTWIRE link on the site.Thank you!
thereuare Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you're happy with the results and this porperty will work for your needs. I often recommend to users in this area that they give Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) a try for breakfast... a short walk from this hotel and one of the best bagels in the city, makes for an inexpensive breakfast among local NYers.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
