Priceline allowed me to rebid at $70 - won Marriot Residence Inn

I think my major problem was that my date of Aug 29 was too late. The hotels may have been mostly booked and were not desperate enough to take lower bids. I was also constrained that I did not want to stay downtown and needed to stay in Markham.

What do more experienced people in the forum think? Is booking earlier in some ways better or was my location constraint the issue?
