Additional question for anyone who may be able to answer:

Why is it possible to find really good deals for any other point in the month except this particular weekend? I know there is a Saints home game on Sunday afternoon and a BBQ/Blues Fest, but is there another reason? I've seriously been stalking hotel deals for this trip for MONTHS already and all the good promos end either Sept 30 or Oct 15. So frustrating!

This is a match for the previous reported Sheraton. The TA rating also match this hotel so that would be my best guess.

This could be enough.

$99 for a 4* Downtown hotel certainly seems like a decent enough deal to me (and appears to be a nice discount vs. a conventionally booked room). Sure others have gotten a room at this star level for less, but with the other events taking place, this certainly seems reasonble to me.

Hey Terp...I too am faced with the same situation!!(17oct-20oct)The reason I found was (forgive spelling)their is an anastegiologist/phamacutical convention in town that week/end.Sat. is the problem night for me.I was able to book the 4* mystery hotel (Intercontinental)on another site at $79.For Sun.and Mon. but now need something for Sat.(17oct)so far it's looking like 3*downtown on hotwire(holiday inn superdome??)at $69-$72.

4* downtown for that weekend is not a bad deal considering you won't have to move like me and there is also that price may go up.
