The best hotel that I can find on Priceline for the week after Christmas is a 2 1/2 star. Is there any chance that this is the Doubletree Suites? Also, what is a good bid for this hotel?

Are you refering to Priceline or Hotwire?

The highest rated hotel in the Naples area on Priceline is 2.5*, but there is a separate zone of Bonita Springs which offers Resort class properties... or is it Hotwire that you are looking at?

Please also provide the actual dates of your stay.

The DoubleTree Suites has previously been reported as a 3* property; given that this star level is no longer offered in this zone, it is unknown if they hotel has been downgraded to a 2.5* or if they have stopped participating with Priceline all together.

Rates are somewhat high for these dates? Did you still want to bid this with the 'unknown' about the DoubleTree (i would assume it is not offered until proven otherwise). If you still want to try Priceline let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy (also, are you interested in Naples only or Bonita Springs as well?)

I would actually prefer Bonita Springs. All of my family lives in Bonita Springs. I definitely would like to bid on a hotel. My maximum that I would LIKE to pay (not necessarily the maximum that I will pay) is $100 per night. Thanks for your help!

If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read REBIDDING ON PRICELINE EXPLAINED and feel free to ask any questions that you may have. If you're unsure of your re-bid zones or just want to confirm them with the board feel free to ask.

This is how i would proceed:

When bidding Bonita Springs at the Resort level you have six re-bid zones available.

Select Resort Bonita Springs:

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone and....

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $100.

If rejected close that browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.

When bidding 2.5* in Naples you have two re-bid zones plus Bonita Springs (technically not a re-bid zone but works for your purpose):

Select 2.5* Naples:

Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $50.

If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.

Select 2.5* Naples and Bonita Springs

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $65.

It the above is rejected wait 72 hours and try again, repeating the Bonita Springs Resort bid at the same prices but increasing all the Naples bids by $10, repeat that process until you reach your $100 maximum on Naples as well (should be 2 weeks if you bid every 72 hours).

As some back-up ideas i did find some Quality Inn and Comfort Inn type properties for $70 or so and the Trianon Bonita Bay for $149 (i don't know anything about these properties but figured with you having family there you would know better than i).

Any questions feel free to ask.
