Craig34 Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Ok. I have found a 4 Star in Downtown Portland for Aug 28th to Aug 31st for a rate of $106 on HOTWIRE. It has the following ammenities:Boutique HotelRestaurantsBusiness CentreInternetAnyone know what hotel this would likely be?
yellowdog Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Please follow-up your previous Pricline Las Vegas thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay... then bump this thread and we'll have a look at the above.Yellowdog.
Craig34 Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 I replied to the Vegas query; however, I do not know what you mean by, "bump this thread"?
thereuare Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 "Bumping" a thread is replying to it (as you have done... sometimes with just the word 'bump' in the message) as it 'bumps' the thread to back into the queue to be reviewed. Are you plans for the stay above firm? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Craig34 Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 We are booked to go to Oregon, staying in McMinnville on Wed the 26th and Lincoln City on the 27th. Just need to solidify plans for Portland for above dates(28th-31st). Missed out on the Nines a few weeks ago. Did not know about this site at the time and was leery of booking the advertised 5 Star on HOTWIRE. What a mistake. There are no more 5 Star bookings on either site. But I am keen on staying in a 4 Star Downtown. But would like to know before I commit as I may be able to get a better rate than $106 at that hotel on PRICELINE. So in short, I would like to know what this 4 Star might be. Can you help?
tilepusher Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 There isn't enough information to identify the hotel. However, if you change your search parameters to 2 adults/1 child, the 4* hotel in Downtown Portland shows the above amenities plus Fitness Center, and the following TripAdvisor information: 4 rating, 140+ reviews (last reviewed July 2009). This looks like a match for the Hotel Vintage Plaza, so that would be my guess. The hotel in your original HOTWIRE search is likely the same, but might not be. Booking as 2 adults/1 child should increase your likelihood of getting the Vintage Plaza, if that is what you want. I'm sure that you would get a better rate on a 4* hotel through PRICELINE, but there's no way to know what hotel you'd end up at.
thereuare Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 I wouldn't assume that the hotel you win on PRICELINE will be the same hotel that you're being offered on HOTWIRE... it may turn out that way, but i wouldn't ID the HOTWIRE hotel to determine what you're going to get on PRICELINE.If having an educated gueas as to the hotel you'll likely receive is the most important factor than you should use HOTWIRE... if the absolutate lowest price is the most important factor, and you're "ok" with any 4* hotel in the zone, then use PRICELINE.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Craig34 Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I will let you know how it goes. In the meantime if you find out which 4 Star Downtown boutique hotel does not have a fitness center let me know...thanks again.I looked at all the 4 Stars. Could this be the Paramount?
Craig34 Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 Ok that is trange. I just went back to HOTWIRE to check the rates and the $106 Hotel with the amenities that I reported would have seemed to have added a "fitness center".
thereuare Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Some properties use multiple amenity combinations or a different hotel may be offered from search to search. Please list in the complete amenities in your posts rather than "now has a Fitness icon added to the above" as it makes it difficult to follow what amenities are being shown with the current property offered. However, this goes back to the above... are you looking for something in particular for this stay or is your gameplan to try PRICELINE for the lowest price? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
