Had a friend stay at Woodfin Hotel San Diego and he really liked it. So I joined www.betterbidding.com and researched how priceline works and to improve my chances to get this hotel. Got lots of ideas! I'm sure I have more to learn. But I'm very happy with the results I received. This was my first time and it was actually a lot of fun. Since I had a specific hotel in mind, I figured out the sub-region in San Diego that I wanted and what star rating Woodfin would be. It was Sorrento Mesa. Woodfin was 3 star. There were two other 3 star hotels in that region and I would have been happy with any of them actually. So here's my bidding:

1. 3* Sorrento Mesa $45......rejected

2. 3* Sorrento Mesa, added Coronado, increased bid to $50...rejected but priceline gave me a one time offer which was to increase

my bid by $16 and see what would happen

3. so increased my bid to $64, it was accepted and Woodfin was the hotel

I booked this hotel 8/23/09 for two nights (9/04/09 to 9/05/09). The total for two nights is $128 plus $25.12 (taxes and service fees) which equals $153.

I used the PRICELINE link on this site.
