RRRR Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 Got Doubletree at Collonade in Baltimore University Area for $46 (I think would also have worked at 45). I only requested a 2* (The Ramada at Pikesville) which is all I wanted. The doubletree has a $20 + $3.20 tax parking charge making it more expensive than the Ramada at retail price. I feel totally ripped off. The only way I will bid in this area again is to go the Doubletree site and see if this hotel is sold out for the dates I want. Any other ideas on how to avoid this hotel?Dates: 8/19/09-8/20/09
thereuare Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Sorry to see you received an unwanted upgrade, but thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List for this area.I feel totally ripped off.Imagine if you paid the 'retail' rate directly thru the hotel and still had to pay for parking on top of that. :) Unknown resort fees, parking, internet, etc are all just part of the 'game' and if you can't agree to the potential for these charges then book direct (at a cost which will still likely be more than a PRICELINE or HOTWIRE rate plus any addtional charges)Your other option is to use HOTWIRE where you may be able to take an educated guess as to the property beforehand based upon the amenties shown to be associated with the property offered... then you can determine if that property charges for parking, internet, etc. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Other than the parking change, hope you enjoyed your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
