blf
Hi, My husband and I are travelling to NYC October 2-6 with another couple. We are looking to book 2 rooms (or we are okay booking our own rooms and staying at different hotels). We are wanting the best deal (under $130 a nite if possible). We aren't too picky of location (okay with anything that is somewhat central and you can walk to times square within 30 min) we would be willing to pay up to $150 for a 4 star. Any advice Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!I don't think you're budget is going to be enough for 4 star property, but did you want to try for a 4* first up to your limit (and then if rejected try for a 3.5* and then a 3*)?Please confirm and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. thereuare
I'm assuming that MTE, MTW, CPS, TS, and ESB are all acceptable zones? (if not post back before bidding and we'll revise)At the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE, MTW, TS, and CPS...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected closer browser and use our links to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* ESB...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected closer browser and use our links to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW, TS, CPS and ESB...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. blf
we tried the first couple options and they didn't work so it ended up getting too high for us , did not book at all Link to comment

HenryCorgi
Thereuare, Don't you start with one zone and add one rebid zone at a time? Your explanation looks like you select all the zones firstIt should be zone 1, zone 1+2, zone 1+2+3 etc. no? Link to comment
thereuare
I was confident enough that winning a 4* ESB under $130 was so unlikely that the strategy above was valid and done to save time bidding.
