TravelGuy
Welcome to BetterBidding the world of Priceline! You got a great deal on the U.S. Grant. This unique hotel rarely comes up, and when it has, I don't think I've ever seen it come up for that low a bid. The rate on their website for your dates is $187. I don't know what you're doing for New Year's Eve, but Priceline has a feature where you can add a night to your reservation if the hotel has Priceline availability for the extra night. The Grant's rate for 12/31 is $167, so that night they may very well have allocated some rooms to sell through Priceline. These days it's taking at least $65 to get a 4* in San Diego (Coastal zone), higher downtown and around $100 in Coronado, so it would have taken a miracle for your 4* bids to work. But I admire your aggressiveness and willingness to push the envelope. Tune your strategy up a bit and you'll be getting the full benefit out of Priceline.l Link to comment
