fauxataraxia Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 I'm looking to book a 5-star hotel room for two for Oct. 30 - Nov. 1 on the Strip through PRICELINE. What have people been getting on priceline for a 5-star hotel on the Strip?thanks1
fauxataraxia Posted August 19, 2009 Author Report Posted August 19, 2009 Going with a friend to Vegas on the weekend of Oct. 30. Thinking about booking 5* central strip on hotwire. Judging from the list of amenities, it looks like the mystery hotel may be the Venetian. If I get the Venetian, would I be able to call the hotel and upgrade to two queen beds? Or will I be stuck with one king bed?
yellowdog Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 We have never heard about any problem with an paid upgrade for this hotel if they have rooms available. The standard rooms PRICELINE books got one king + a sofa-sleeperIf you need help to determ the hotel so please list the amenties HOTWIRE associates with the hotel you're looking at and the dates for your stay.Yellowdog.
thereuare Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. You can see the 5* hotels previously reported to the board in our Priceline Hotel List. If you want to see what has been won recently you can enter "Las Vegas" (without the quotes) in the QUICK SEARCH box at the top of the board and get a feel for what has come up recently.NOTE that the Trump International has been won thru PRICELINE at the 5* level in the Strip zone, but it located slightly off the strip and doesn't have a casino, would this be an acceptable property? What is your expected budget? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Kerjner Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 I'm headed to Vegas Sept 4-12/2009.We booked the Trump 5 star for $108 per night through Priceline. I think you are pretty much guaranteed the Trump at that price. I'm quite sure i could have gotten the room for a better price so i would almost suggest starting around $95-$100.The Trump is a bargain at $108 and it's on the north strip which is quite close to everything. It has no casino but it's a quiet hotel with all suites!Keep in mind that when you book 5 stars and 4 stars they usually have resort fees that you will have to pay that are not included in the final price. You can get nickel and dimed. So if you are booking a 5 star in vegas bet on aroun $30 a day miscellaneous add on costs that you don't see on Priceline or Hotwire.Oh one more thing... The Trump charges $20 for wireless even in the public areas.
AaronJB Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Kerjerner, thank you for your post, but it would be appreciated if you could also post your win for the Trump in a separate thread so it can appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins. Thanks.
