Thought this was the Westin Diplomat but Hotwire wasn't displaying any tripadvisor rating information unlike some other recent listings for this hotel so I wasn't 100% sure.

Amenities listed were Resort, Fitness Centre, Pool, Restaurant, High Speed Internet, Golf Nearby.

Yes, it was Westin Diplomat and not the Country Club version.

A little skeptical that this is the Westin Diplomat and not the Golf Resort and Spa (the latter which is not affiliated with Westin). I just booked a 4* hotel in hollywood beach, florida for 9/5-9/6 for $80 with the same amenities list which turned out to be the Golf Resort and not the Westin. Could you double check the distance from the airport? For the Golf Resort it gave me "4.9 miles to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Intl. Airport (FLL), 18.2 miles to Miami Intl. (MIA) "; the Westin should be a little further out from both. Either way though, both hotels have fabulous reviews. Thanks.

It doesn't work this way. The distance is not to the specific hotel. I belive it's to the center of the zone.

I can confirm that it was the Westin Diplomat and not the Country Club. We got an ocean view room (no balcony but still very happy) and paid a self park fee of $18/night but no resort or other fees charged. The infinity pool was under renovation during our stay but otherwise everything was great. You can shuttle between the two resorts for free (which we did) - the Country Club is nice but much more sedate and with no beach access although the spa looked appealing if you are into this and don't mind paying the fees! Everyone was very helpful even though we didn't pay very much for the room. Would stay again at this rate but also loved the Viceroy in downtown Miami on HOTWIRE as well as the Eden Roc on PRICELINE, all for the same rate more or less.
