Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Montreal Hyatt Regency

My stay is for three nights 9-1-2009 thru 9-3-2009, $222.00 for the room + $46.14 taxes = $268.14 total. It's a good price, but I was hoping for the embassy suites ( free breakfast, What can I say, I like a bargain). My only real gripe with the Hyatt Regency is that they tend to have very high parking prices. I expect to pay $25 per day for parking. But hey, this price is about $40 cheaper than the lowest I saw on a discount sight, and $130 cheaper per night than what tripadvisor suggests. It will do just fine.

Side note rant:

What hotels offer the best bargain for price vs amenities? I reluctantly stayed at a Quality Inn with my in-laws. (Pet friendly, they had their dog) . The Quality Inn had a very comfortable bed, free internet, free breakfast, free parking, and I payed only 10 dollars more for a huge jacuzzi tub. I was pleasantly surprised by all f the amenities that were included. The room was $80 a night at teh front desk. I find that the more I pay for a room, the more I have to pay once I get there for add-ons. Sure, the fancier hotels have better room decor, but how much time do you really spend in your room on vacation. I'm starting feel like the higher end hotels are really not such a great bargain. I feel sorry for the poor sucker paying $200 a night. Thanks for listening

In regards to your other comments, i'm in partial agreement.... i think the sweet spot are the 'upper-midscale' properties (Hyatt Place, Embassy Suites, etc), but give me a Westin or W Hotel bed and i'll forgo free breakfast and internet every time!
