These are the two options I'm looking into for my Vegas stay in a couple weeks:

No idea what this one is:

4 star hotel, near Strip East:

9/3-9/8

2.6 miles to McCarran Intl. Airport (LAS)

Smoke Free Rooms

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Laundry Facilities

High-speed Internet Access

Golf Nearby

Tennis Nearby

I'm guessing this next one might be Signature Suites?

4.5 star hotel, near Strip East:

9/3-9/8

2.6 miles to McCarran Intl. Airport (LAS)

Resort

Suite

Casino

Smoke Free Rooms

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Kitchenette

Spa Services

Thanks! :)

The 4* is a match for the Renaissance while the 4.5* is a match for the Signature at MGM Grand so that would be our best guess for each.

Renaissance is a bit disappointing since it came up for $91 and I see its available on their own website for $93!

I also didnt realize the Near East extended so far North.

Thanks for your help, I will do a bit more research and certainly keep you posted. :)

I found another reasonable hotel on the Central Strip: 4 stars

Casino

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-speed Internet Access

Spa Services

Planet Hollywood?

Again, though, this is only 7 dollars cheaper than I find on the hotel's own website which I find disappointing.

I've never used Hotwire before so I do not know if this is common? I'm a hugeeee Priceline user but in this area I'm not sure thats the way to go.

Yes, best guess for this property is the Planet Hollywood.

Vegas is a tough market for midweek PRICELINE / HOTWIRE deals at HUGE discounts (except at the 5* level) as many hotels already drop their rates tremendously to fill rooms and bring gamblers 'in-house' and there often isn't too much margin left to drop even further.

This isn't to say that the deals aren't out there, but you do need to check them carefully. Add in the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE booking fee (~$6-$7) and that's can make a 'good' deal much less appealing (in this particular market)

If you do book direct please note that the Planet Hollywood can be booked direct thru Sheraton for which we have a link in our support page, as well as links to the MGM Grand and other MGM owned properties... and you may also want to check i4Vegas.com

follow up:

i found the hotwire prices too close to the discounts i was already finding so i did not use them for this trip.

i found a discount code for excalibur online and booked for about $27 a night (weeknights) and had a great stay.
