stumac Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 I see on the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins, that 3.5* (MTW) and 4* (Times Square -- Crowne Plaza) hotels have been won on Priceline for the first week of November or the second week of October. I have tried to match the bids $120-130. but with no success. My dates are flexible, am simply looking for a really good deal around Broadway or Midtown without having to pay a lot for a more than decent hotel. am I doing something wrong or just out of luck?
stumac Posted August 18, 2009 Author Report Posted August 18, 2009 3.5* or 4* MTW or Times Square 09/30-10/02 or 11/04-11/06 have tried bidding up to $130. for these two areas for both sets of dates with no luck. Would also accept MTE (but don't really want to end up near the UN). Other bids for these dates have won for such prices, but not for me. any ideas?
thereuare Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are dynamic in that they're always changing based upon supply/demand factors, as well as the fact that rates can change drastically when adding or removing just one day to a multi-day stay. I searched the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins for your two dates ranges above and dont' see any 4* wins for the same exact date ranges that you had bid.If your dates are flexible i would be trying weekend dates rather than midweek and/or include a Sunday nite if you're able to make that work for your plans... although $130 is a bit on the very low range for this time of year in NYC.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
