CristinC Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Hi there!I need help identifying a 4* hotel in the Central Park area for $183 a night for the night of 8/28/09. I thought it might be the Emipre hotel as the amenities listed are Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurant, and High-Speed Internet-- but I relaized that other amenities prior to this used to be listed (the pool, etc) so i'm not 100% sure. Does anyone have any idea if this is probably the Empire? Also, how can I tell what size room i'd be getting? I'm traveling with one other person so it will be a total of two people so I'd rather get a king size bed if at all possible. Is there anyway to tell if i'll get a King vs. a queen?Thanks!-Cristin
thereuare Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! The above is a match for the Empire Hotel so that would be our best guess. All that is guaranteed with HOTWIRE is a room that will accomodate the number of people included in your search (note: you can guarantee separate sleeping accomodations if you desire by searching for triple occupancy, but be aware that the 'second bed' could be a pullout sofabed or a rollaway cot brought into the room). Other than accomodating the number of people you include in your search, any requests are left at the discretion of the hotel. You can call them after your purchase and make a request for a room with a King sized bed, but this is at their option and they may or may not be able, or willing, to accomodate your request. At some hotels, especially NYC, a room with a King bed may be considered an upgrade and you may be offered such a room but at an additional charge. audreydoll Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 The standard rooms at the Empire Hotel have a queen bed. However, they let me upgrade to a deluxe king room for a $30 fee and it was well worth it.

Unfortunately I hesitated too long and someone else swiped it out from under me, but helpful to know for future reference!
