dubi Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Hi all,I'm looking for a place to stay in NY central areas in a 2* till 3* hotels. I would like to find the cheapest hotel though location is important. my limit is 110$. how much should I bid at priceline and which area is better? Thanks
thereuare Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Exactly which zone(s) are you willing to accept? Also, are you sure a 2* would meet your needs? While there may be some 2* NYC hotels which you'd find satisfactory, there may be some which you wouldn't, and with PRICELINE you don't have the ability to choose which type you will get. :) It's usually recommended to keep your NYC bidding to at least the 3* level unless you have some insight as to what you'll likely get at the lower star level. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. dubi Posted August 17, 2009 Author Report Posted August 17, 2009 I would prefer something in Manhattan, as close as possible to the midtown. how much should I bid and where if I want 3* hotel (lowest price)?
thereuare Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 If you want the "lowest possible price" you should include all the zones which would be acceptable for your plans, as this gives more hotels the ability to accept your (low) PRICELINE bid. Generally speaking all the midtown zones (MTE, MTW, CPS, Chelsea, ESB, TS) work fine for the average user, but some hotels are more convenient than others... but should be get accepted for $110 or less i would consider anything in midtown to be a pretty good deal. Please go to PRICELINE, look at how they divide the zone, and then let us know which area(s) you're willing to accept... we'll then be able to suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. dubi Posted August 18, 2009 Author Report Posted August 18, 2009 Hithanks a lot for all your helpMost of the zones in midtown works for me, to be specific: MTE, MTW, MSG, CPS, Chelsea, ESB, TS are all convenient for me.If I would need to I can also stay in: Soho, UWS, UES but definitely they are not my first option.
