mandalina Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 We are looking to go to Destin, Florida anywhere from September 5, 2009 through September 12, 2009. We would like to stay at least 4 or 5 days but we are flexible during those dates if the rates would be better on certain dates. It will be two adults (husband and wife so only one bed) and two babies (we will bring our pack and plays so no need for beds for them) and we would like on the beach or within walking distance. We would like a very affordable rate of $40-$50 a night. Any ideas?
AaronJB Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Good afternoon. We do actually need specific dates/# of nights to go on to research, as rates can (and usually do) vary by date. Do you have a desired star rating, or are you looking for the best for the least? Please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchase when you are ready to book.
mandalina Posted August 16, 2009 Author Report Posted August 16, 2009 Ok, how about Sept. 6-12 and I would like it on or very close to beach (walking distance with stroller) and 2-3 star at the least would be best. I want somewhere budget friendly but still safe and comfortable for small children.
thereuare Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I would like it on or very close to beach...With PRICELINE your hotel can be anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone. If you go to PRICELINE and look at how they define this area, are you able to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of this zone?If not, HOTWIRE may be a better option as you'll be able to select a hotel that shows a Beachfront or Beach Access icon, which will ensure you that you're within your desired proximity of the beach. If you search HOTWIRE for your dates does anything with a Beachfront or Beach Access icon appear within your star rating and budget? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. attacus09 Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 I am also looking for something. the onlyt hing HOTWIRE has is the Days Inn, which in my opinion are all terrible. They also have a condo, but it's more expensive. Any ideas on how to get a beach front room with PRICELINE? or is that impossible?
yellowdog Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 attacus09The board would be happy to help you but please post in your ongoing Hotwire Hotel thread or start a new topic if you're inquring for a different stay (but don't forget to follow-up your previous thread with whatever you do for that stay).Yellowdog.
mandalina Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 Ok well we have decided for sure to go to Destin. We would love walking distance from beach if at all possible but if we need to do 5-10 mins that is ok. The only other request is that there be at least a small fridge and place to prepare food (stovetop or microwave) for our small kids.
yellowdog Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 You have to be willing to stay at any hotel within the zone you're bidding on (distance to beach). And any hotel at the star rating (or higher) you have selected to bid on.This could mean a hotel with no fridge or micro. Have you looked at HOTWIRE for your dates where you can be assured of a fridge and stovetop/microwave based upon the hotel showing a Kitchenette icon? Please post you firm dates.Yellowdog.
