blindman
Ledra MarriotStayed here for 3 nights 5-8th November 2004. Successful bid of $75.00Hotel is superbly appointed though its location lets it down a little. No coffee maker in room , but free coffee tea in lounge in A.M.Some rooms have Parthenon view. Roof top terrace\pool definitely has (closes November to May).Local shops are behind the Hotel (turn left out of door) about a 5 minute walk and there is a Starbucks 2 blocks down Syngrou (away from city).Syngrou Road is very busy at most times of the day, (think Indy speedway and you won Link to comment
7continentKaren
We stayed there both before and after a flight into Albania, Nov, 2005, on weekends. The location is the pits and the shuttle turned out to be nonexistent for us. Athens, as usual, was having some kind of demonstration in the Plaka area so the shuttle was shut down. First time in we got an upgraded renovated room. They even had a demo room set up in the lobby. The renovated rooms have wonderful beds. Second time, we got a lower floor unrenovated room. We got the room both times for $80 - a reasonable price. The food in the restaurant is awful and expensive. Even the Greek lemon soup tasted like it came from a mix. However, there are hardly any places to eat nearby. We had a snack dinner in the bar which was not too bad. When the shuttle did not show up in town to pick us up, we ended up getting ripped off by a cab driver. Hate the Athens cab drivers also. They are very picky about where they are willing to take you. I could not get a room in the Plaka area so figured that the inconvenient location was offset by the price. Link to comment
