Coloradogal Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 This is my first post so I hope I'm doing it right. Great info. on this site and really appreciate it.First bid $49 for 3* downtown area. Rejected. Rebid $55 for 3* downtown and beach area. Accepted $55 at Holiday Inn, Ft. Lauderdale. Taxes $10.58. I booked 2 rooms at this price. I'm pretty happy with the price. Hope the hotel is nice.
thereuare Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for sharing your win with the board. At almost half of the hotel website's rate i think you did ok, but you you really didn't follow re-bidding in its intended form. Re-bidding is adding a zone that only has star ratings lower than the one you are bidding. Since the Beach zone has 3* hotels it is a 'live' zone and isn't really a re-bid zone. If you want to learn more about re-bidding you can check out PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and feel free to ask any questions that you may have.Enjoy your stay! Coloradogal Posted November 16, 2004 Author Report Posted November 16, 2004 I guess I didn't comprehend as well as I thought I did. And I've read some questionable reviews of this hotel on other boards. But its only one niight so I'm sure it will be ok.Oh well, I'll try to be a better student next time.
thereuare Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I still think you did very well... nothing wrong with a 3* hotel for $45. I just want to make sure you do understand re-bidding so that when biddin again in the future you don't end up in a zone that you don't want.
