lowbit Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 Tried to get 3.5* or 4* in Sonoma for up to $100 with no luck, so went with Santa Rosa and got the Hyatt Vineyard Creek (a 3.5*) for $70 on our first bid. (Santa Rosa has no 4* offerings.) I suspect we probably could have started at $55 or $60 and worked up, and gotten a lower rate, but hindsight is 20/20. :)We wanted to take a Sonoma and/or Napa winery tour or two while we're there and were concerned that there wouldn't be anything leaving from Santa Rosa, but a little research revealed several options that left from any of the nicer (i.e. 3.5*) Santa Rosa hotels, so all was good with that. MapQuest showed a 35 minute drive from Santa Rosa to Sonoma, and a 60 minute drive to Napa, so neither area is too far if we decide to go by car.And of course we used the BB PRICELINE link for all bidding. :) Thanks!
