Indeed, in high season hotels sell out! Having seen the great numbers for Hotel Viking, I have tried daily up to $170/night with no luck and now they are sold out for this weekend 8/14-16. Lesson learned: waiting for better deals did not pan out! I did bid $80 for a 2 star in Middletown area and obtained Newport Whirlpool and Suites.
